Washington Self-study Online Pre-licensing Education
The online courses listed below fulfill the Washington State pre-licensing education (PLE) requirement. If you want a resident license you must complete 20 hours of PLE for each major line of authority (LOA) you wish to obtain. Major lines include: life, disability, property, casualty and personal lines (If you are getting a Property and Casualty license, you DO NOT need a Personal Lines license). The computer tracks your time used in the courses. You may download and print a Certificate of Completion after completing all the lessons in the course and completing a minimum of 20 hours of study. The State insurance exams are administered by PSI. Call 855-205-5825 to schedule and pay for an exam or go to the PSI's website. Information about the exams and fingerprinting may be found on PSI's website in the Candidate Information Bulletin (it's very important that you read it).
Fingerprinting: If you are not currently a licensed insurance producer in Washington State, a fingerprint card is required when you apply for a resident insurance license. Digital fingerprinting services are available at the PSI testing centers for $47.00. This fee includes the rolling fee and background check .
